What's the difference between cosmetic surgery and plastic surgery? Cosmetic surgery is regularly defined as purely elective or cosmetic procedures only, while plastic surgery defines itself as procedures related to the reconstruction of facial and body defects. Causes of facial and body defects for plastic surgery include  birth defects or from injury such as burns, disease and trauma.
